Congratulations to Eric A. Lopez, Public Works Department, recipient of the City of Coral Gables Employee of the Month Award, for the month of June 2014.

The nomination was submitted by Ernesto Pino, Public Works Department, which provided the following:
"Mr. Lopez began working with the City's Public Service Department in 2001 and then transferred to the Public Works Facilities Maintenance Division in September of 2003 as a Maintenance Worker II. In January 2006, Mr. Lopez was promoted to Maintenance Repair Worker.
As a Maintenance Repair Worker, Mr. Lopez is primarily responsible for graffiti removal of all City facilities including buildings, parking garages, parks, signs and fountains. He has become a specialist in the "graffiti" area. Mr. Lopez is also highly involved in all of the City's Special Events which include the 4th of July, Holiday Tree Lighting and the Junior Orange Bowl Parade just to name a few.
Mr. Lopez's Superintendent states that Eric can always be found with a giant smile on his face, he is one of the friendliest and most helpful persons he's ever known. Mr. Lopez is a true team player and very professional in his dealings with other City departments. Whenever he comes across something in the City that is in need of repair or just doesn't look right, he will immediately radio it into dispatch to make sure it's addressed.
We are honored to have him represent the Public Works department as the employee of the Month."
