Pursuant to the provisions of Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(a) the proceeds and interest from assets forfeited as a result of criminal investigations shall be used for school resource officer, crime prevention, safe neighborhood, or drug abuse education programs.
The primary crime prevention and safe neighborhood program of the Coral Gables Police Department is facilitated through the Police Department's partnership with Coral Gables Citizens Crime Watch, Inc.
The Forfeited Asset Fund (F.A.F.) Committee met on January 29, 2014, and approved the expenditure of $33,023 to fund the Coral Gables Citizens Crime Watch, Inc. Program.
