Resolution authorizing the extension of a contract with Downtown Towing Company, pursuant to Section 2-834 (d) of the Procurement Code for an additional six (6) months from the expiration date of the current contract until such time that a new towing contract is executed.
Body
On July 15, 2008, the City Commission approved a two (2) year contract for towing services with Downtown Towing Company, which will expire on December 1, 2010. This contract provides for on-call twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) day per week vehicle towing and storage services.
In order to provide sufficient time to review City towing services requirements and fees, develop a scope of services, prepare a solicitation, and execute a new contract, it is recommended that the current contract be extended an additional six (6) months from the expiration date of the current contract until such time that a new towing contract is executed.
Under Section 2-834 (d) of the Procurement Code, this contract with Downtown Towing Company may be extended by the City Commission.
