A Resolution of the Waterway Advisory Board requesting the City Commission, through the City Manager, to move forward with the Oasis Waterway Decontamination Pilot Program, further directing the Public Works Department to identify potential locations, and for the City to develop the criteria to be met and report its findings back to the board.

 

 

Body

At the January 7, 2026, Waterway Advisory Board meeting, Mr. Richard Ricardo, Clean Rivers Foundation and Applied6 Engineering, presented a no-cost to the City pilot program that would enhance water quality and ecological health through the installation of a pilot filtration system within city waterways.

 

Upon discussion by the Board, the following motion was made: Mr. Barreto made a motion to move forward with the pilot program, directing the Public Works Department to identify potential locations, for the City to develop the criteria to be met and report its findings back to the Board.  The motion was seconded by Mrs. Swain, all were in favor, and adopted unanimously.

Fiscal Impact

N/A Pilot program will be at no cost to the City.
