Congratulations to Captain Dave Martin, recipient of the City of Coral Gables “Firefighter of the Month Award,” for the month of June, 2016.

Capt. Dave Martin has been selected June’s Firefighter of the Month for his hard work and dedication in his current role as Firefighter Recruit Instructor. As the department’s Lead Recruit Instructor, Captain Martin dedicated many hours to the success of the Recruit Class, preparing them mentally and physically to perform, while mentoring them to become the upcoming firefighters of the future.
This undertaking is only a small part of Capt. Martin’s contributions to the department, including instructing multiple Rookie Classes, serving on the Vehicle Purchasing Committee, the Combat Challenge Team, and while working in the Administrative Staff as an outstanding Operations Chief for approximately 4 years. Capt. Martin’s work ethic is inspiring and his willingness to go out of his way to assist the department, admirable. He is an inspiration and an example for others to follow.
We are fortunate to have Captain Martin in the Fire Department and happy to honor him as June’s Firefighter of the Month.
