MIRACLE MILE/GIRALDA AVENUE STREETSCAPE - PROPOSED ARTISTS (ACTION):
Prior to this meeting, Arts Advisory Panel members received qualifications and letters of interest from thirteen artists who were recommended by this panel, the cultural development board, staff, streetscape team, and public art consultant Via Partnership. Panel members forwarded preliminary scores of the artist's materials to staff. Scores were averaged and the panel was provided a list of the scores with the following project goals:
· Create a fresh interpretation of Coral Gables' long-standing commitment to public spaces.
· Introduce artistic interventions into the overall Miracle Mile streetscape project.
· Create visual surprises that give identity to distinct sections of the street.
· Anchor gathering places along the corridor.
· Engage the public in a meaningful way.
· Complement the new streetscape design.

Mr. Roselione-Valadez made a motion to recommend the three mid-block crossings furthest west, excluding the eastern-most crossing, as the sites for public art on Miracle Mile. Ms. Tschumy seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Ms. Tschumy made a motion to recommend inviting Ball-Nogues Studio, David Brooks, and Meejin Yoon to present public art design proposals at the three western-most mid-block crossings along Miracle Mile. Mr. Stuart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROJECT UPDATES (DISCUSSION):
Ms. Cathers updated the panel on the completion of the public art collections on-line map. The panel expressed their support of having the map on the City's app. Panel members recommended including the Denman Fink painting in City Hall and other artworks throughout the City, but not in the City's collection, such as artworks at the Women's Club.
