Resolution authorizing the extension of a contract with Genuine Parts Company, d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts, pursuant to Section 2-834 (d) of the Procurement Code on a month-to-month, as-needed basis until such time a new contract is approved or a new vehicle parts strategy is implemented.
Body
On October 1, 2003, the City entered into a piggyback contract with Genuine Parts Company, d/b/a as NAPA Auto Parts for the provision of vehicle parts for an initial two (2) year term with an option to renew for two (2) additional two (2) year periods.
The current piggyback contract of the City of Miami expired and has not been re-solicited. Procurement is currently reviewing other potential piggyback contracts and the option of soliciting bid ourselves in consultation with the Automotive Department. The Automotive Department is in the process of determining whether the current scope-of-work included in this contract continues to the meet the needs of the City.
Under Section 2-834 (d) of the Procurement Code this contract with Genuine Parts Company, d/b/a NAPA Auto Parts for the provision of vehicle parts services should be extended on a month to month as needed basis until such time a new contract is approved or a new vehicle parts strategy is implemented.
