I am nominating Mr. Ariel Rosario of the Greenspace Management Division of the Public Works
Department to be Employee of The Month, because he exemplifies the following Values: Ariel's
dedication to the City is un-matched in our division. Ariel began his career in the public works
department as a landscape maintenance worker over 35 years ago. Ariel retired, yet requested to return to
the work he loves part-time approximately 8 years ago. As a part time employee, Ariel goes well above
his job description being available to work on un-scheduled days, off hours and weekends when the
division has a special landscape project or special event. Ariel has a proven record of integrity and
competency and has worked his way upward in the division from maintenance worker to one of the finest
Supervisors in the division. Ariel's competency in leading his team of heavy equipment operators is
innovative, and the he is relied on to train all the new employees on how to operate heavy machinery,
vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently. Ariel is loyal and assessable always and often volunteers
to perform duties on the urban forestery team when extra help with tree knowledge is needed. Ariel
knows the City of Coral Gables like no other I have experienced, and can even navigate City streets
without the use of a map remembering specific details of trees existing on each street.
