New items were deferred, and Board members present were advised that it would be an informational meeting only. No items were discussed that relate to items requiring action in the future.
CULTURAL GRANTS - REQUESTS, UPDATES, REVIEWS:
a. CULTURAL GRANT GUIDELINES DRAFT
It was noted that all board members were provided in advance with the Cultural Grant guidelines, including dates and deadlines, that were included with the Commission item approving modifications. Board members present were advised that the Commission item passed.
ART IN PUBLIC PLACES UPDATES:
Ms. Cathers provided a status update for Art in Public Places projects. She stated that the Public Safety Building RFQ responses will be narrowed down to a longer list for Police and Fire professionals, who would select a short list of artists to interview prior to working on proposals.
OLD BUSINESS:
There was no old business.
CITY COMMISSION ITEMS:
There were no additional updates.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
Board members had a general discussion regarding the public art collection. Mr. Pantin asked that lighting be added to illuminate all works of art, including the Old Shoes sculpture.
Mr. Pantin mentioned the restored mooring posts in the canal by Cartagena Circle and asked that the City consider making new posts a public art opportunity.
