Synopsis: Cases # 25-002391, 25-002392, and 25-002393
On April 14, 2025, at approximately 1955 hours, five juveniles entered a construction site located at the 100 block of San Lorenzo Ave. While inside the construction site, the juveniles can be seen tampering with a forklift and one of the juveniles enters the vehicle and begins driving it. The juvenile can be seen driving the vehicle on to Orange Street and began driving in circles. The males took turns driving the vehicle and did so until approximately 2003 hours, parking the vehicle along the Northside of the street. The males are seen moving the forklift on to the middle of street and then running away eastbound once a white van approaches the area.
A BOLO was distributed, and Detective Rivera was able to identify the above-mentioned defendants as students from her assigned school (Ponce De Leon Middle School), and she had encounters with the above-mentioned defendants. Subsequently, she arrested five of the juveniles and obtained a full confession from three of the juveniles. Detective Rivera also coordinated the processing of all five juveniles within policy, which in itself took a great deal of organization and planning. Detective Rivera’s relentless search for justice and compassion demonstrated for the juvenile offenders clearly demonstrated the delicate balance of handling juvenile offenders in hopes of turning their future in the right direction.
Detective Rivera’s relentless search for justice and compassion demonstrated for the juvenile offenders clearly demonstrated the delicate balance of handling juvenile offenders in hopes of turning their future in the right direction.
For these reasons, I wholeheartedly believe Detective Rivera is truly worthy of Detective of the 2nd Quarter, 2025
