Title
Resolution amending Resolution 2009-218, by increasing fees and charges for services furnished by the City of Coral Gables for non residents of the City of Coral Gables; and providing for an effective date.
Body
This amendment of Resolution 2009-218 provides an increase in the fees charged for emergency rescue transportation services effective October 1, 2009.  The annual revenue that would increase as a result of the fee changes from $310 to $358.67 for basic life support and transport, $425.93 for advanced life support and transport level 1, $616.47 for advanced life support rescue and transport level 2, and mileage charge from $7.50 to $10.00 per mile, in addition to new charges for specialty care transport of $600.00 and special handling of $25.00 for extrication, which shall be charged to all persons, would generate $450,000.00 of additional revenue.  The maximum cost to a resident will be the prevailing Medicare allowable rate for Emergency Medical Transportation.  Residents with Medicare coverage will not be charged a Medicare co-payment.  These charges are comparable to the fees and services charged by Miami-Dade County. The last increase to the City's emergency rescue transportation service fees was in 2001.

These additional revenues are included in the 2009-2010 Annual Budget.
