Title
Presentation of 20 years service pin to Dallas C. Brown, Public Works Department.
Body
Dallas joined the City in July 1989 as a full-time temporary Craft Worker - aka Assistant Carpenter - in what was then known as the Special Projects Section. He remained there until his conversion to regular full-time Maintenance Worker II in October 1994. By then his value to the City's organization was clearly recognized, being promoted to Senior Foreman in 1998 and to his present position of Maintenance Division Superintendent in July 1999.
Through the years, Dallas has always gone the extra mile to be involved and contribute his time and skills with the Junior Orange Bowl Committee and Special Events Committee. In addition, his file shows many letters of appreciation from contractors for his courtesy, quick thinking and assistance during different City events.
Dallas meets major challenges on a daily basis. He attempts to control cost as best as he can at his level. His estimates on projects are typically on target and he is a very good planner, understanding City department priorities and making sound decisions.
Dallas is definitely one of the "go to guys" in the City. On a 24/7 basis he responds in a positive and timely fashion. Consistency is clearly his middle name, having been named Employee of the Month in July 1995 and June 2007.
The City recognizes and appreciates Dallas for 20 years of loyal and dedicated service. Congratulations, Dallas.
