Title
A Resolution authorizing the award of Fitness Professional Services to The Fitness Center pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code for the Fitness Professional RFP 2008.07.14.  Further authorizing the City Manager to execute a two (2) year contract with an option to renew for (3) additional one (1) year periods.
 
Recommendation of the City Manager
It is recommended that the City Commission accept the recommendation of the City Manager pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code for the Fitness Professional RFP 2008.07.14.  Further authorizing the City Manager to execute a two (2) year contract with an option to renew for (3) additional one (1) year periods.
 
Brief History
On June 27, 2008, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Fitness Professional Project Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 2008.07.14.
On July 24, 2008, two (2) proposals were received; The Fitness Center and Cynergy Lifestyles, Inc.
On September 16, 2008, the Selection Committee consisting of three (3) members, Luanne Santangelo, Parks and Recreation Assistant Director, Darby Plummer, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Member and Gail Haldeman, UM School of Medicine, Director of the Medical Wellness Center completed their evaluation based on Qualifications (including degrees, licenses and certifications), Program Proposal, Resources and Labor, Business History, References and Cost of Providing Services.
The proposal provides revenue to the City of 30% from total gross fitness revenue, including all monies received from all related fitness services provided by the Fitness Professional, and will also include Fitness Center membership fees.
