John has been selected as October’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
Driver Engineer Jensen has gone above and beyond in the specification, coordination, and rollout of our new Scott SCBA breathing apparatus. This was no small task. From technical research to logistical planning, training considerations, and department-wide implementation, John approached every detail with commitment, patience, and professionalism. His efforts ensured that our members received this new equipment smoothly and confidently, ultimately enhancing the safety, readiness, and effectiveness of our entire department.
John has served as an Air Technician since 2017, and throughout that time, he has consistently been the person who can be counted on, no matter the challenge, no matter the timeline. He is someone who steps forward not for recognition, but because he cares deeply about his craft, his fellow firefighters, and the mission of the Coral Gables Fire Department. His quiet leadership, steady presence, and genuine education have made a lasting impact, both operationally and personally, on those who work with him.
Driver Engineer Jensen represents what is best about our organization: pride in the job, commitment to the team and a willingness to give more than what is required. His work on this project is just the latest example of the excellence he brings to this department every day.
