Lieutenant Angel has been selected December’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
There is an incredible talent pool within the ranks of our Fire Department. Lieutenant Angel’s decisive actions during a fire incident on November 22, 2024, at 1808 Ferdinand St were critical in preventing further damage to the home. A powerline fell, igniting a vehicle in the driveway and spreading to a second vehicle, while dangerously arcing and creating a severe hazard for the fire crews. As the fire began to spread to the home, Lieutenant Angel made the critical decision to contact FPL and have the power grid de-energized. His swift action allowed the crew to safely extinguish the vehicle fires and prevent further damage.
Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication to the Fire Department, Lieutenant Angel is nominated for Firefighter of the month for December 2024.
