A Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the Biltmore Golf Course Remediation Phase II Project to Cherokee Enterprises, Inc., pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code entitled "Contract Award" and Invitation for Bid (IFB) 2014.04.22.
Body
The project consists of the removal of a two (2) foot layer of arsenic impacted soils and the installation of an asphalt cover and landscape barrier to serve as an engineering control in the vicinity of the maintenance building at the Biltmore Golf Course.
On April 25, 2014, the Procurement Division formally advertised, issued and distributed Invitation For Bid (IFB) 2014.04.22 Biltmore Golf Course Environmental Remediation Phase II project.
On May 1, 2014, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held with fourteen (14) prospective bidders attending out of a total of thirty-three (33) prospective bidders who obtained the bid package from the Procurement Division.
On May 22, 2014, three responsive (3) bids were submitted by: Florida Construction & Engineering, Inc., SFM Services, Inc., and Cherokee Enterprises, Inc. Two (2) firms, MCO Environmental, Inc., and SWS Environmental, Inc., submitted a no-bid response to the IFB. The lowest responsive and responsible bid was submitted by Cherokee Enterprises, Inc., in the amount of $243,178.50. Cherokee Enterprises, Inc., was also the successful bidder on the Biltmore Golf Course Remediation Phase I Project.
The Consulting Engineering for the project, URS Corporation and the Public Works Department concur with the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award Cherokee Enterprises, Inc., Biltmore Golf Course Remediation Phase II Project.
