Ordinance No. 2015-17, passed and adopted by the City Commission on June 16, 2015, and subsequently amended by Resolution No. 2016-75, Resolution No. 2016-148, Resolution No. 2017-167, and Resolution No. 2018-219, established and amended fees for various licenses, permits, services, and penalties provided by the City of Coral Gables; and
City's Sanitary Sewer Service Charges are calculated based on consumption-based charges and fixed monthly charges, including system maintenance, capital improvement, and the user rates billed by Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department (WASD). WASD user rates are increasing by 6.24% fiscal year beginning October 1, 2026; and because of WASD’s annual audited financial report and audited wholesale expenditures the City must also pay an additional $1,360,096 for previous services and charges.
The City has developed a multi-year sanitary sewer rate structure for Fiscal Years 2027 and estimated rates for Fiscal year 2028 through 2031 to provide sufficient revenues for the continued operation, maintenance, and capital improvement of the City's sanitary sewer system accounting for the planned WASD user rate increases and the additional costs passed on by WASD.
SANITARY SEWER RATE SCHEDULE
FISCAL YEARS 2027-2031
The sanitary sewer rates become effective at the beginning of the applicable fiscal year and shall remain in effect until superseded by the rate established for the succeeding fiscal year.
