Firefighter Ledesma has been selected July’s Firefighter of the Month for his outstanding display of individual initiative surpassing job requirements and expectations, specifically for his hard work and dedication to the department.
There is an incredible talent pool within the ranks of our Fire Department. Firefighter Ledesma went above and beyond the call of duty when he helped remove a fishhook from a child’s foot. The child was in a state of panic, causing significant distress. While off duty, Juston came across the situation and immediately stepped in to assist.
Justin’s ability to calm the frantic child was instrumental in the successful removal of the hook. His patience, reassurance, and skilled handling of the situation not only alleviated the child’s fear but also ensured the procedure was as painless as possible. This act highlights the challenges faced when dealing with children in panic and showcases Justin’s extraordinary composure and dedication.
To add the significance of this act, it was later revealed that the child he helped was the son of a fellow firefighter, demonstrating Justin’s strong sense of duty and camaraderie.
Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication to the Fire Department, Firefighter Ledesma is nominated for Firefighter of the month for July 2024.
