Resolution appointing and confirming certain individuals to serve as members on the City of Coral Gables Green Task Force for a term of office which shall commence on October 1, 2010 until May 30, 2011; and thereafter commencing on June 1, 2011 and expiring on May 31st in odd numbered years.

Brief History
July 13, 2010 the Commission adopted ordinance No. 2010-12 creating the Green Task Force with an effective date of October 1, 2010. The Green Task force will allow for the study and application of new technologies and philosophies promoting environmental sustainability for the City. As per ordinance, the Green Task Force shall be comprised of eleven (11) members. Ten members from the following categories are to be appointed by the Commission including: one (1) Landscape Architect, one (1) Professional Planner, one (1) Representative with Interest in Historic Preservation, one (1) Engineer, one (1) Architect, one (1) representative each from the University of Miami, Chamber of Commerce, Garden Club and 2 residents. In addition one (1) resident is to be appointed by the City Manager.
The City Manager has designated the public works department to provide staff assistance to the Task Force. Assistant Public Works Director Ernesto Pino, LEED certified Architect, will be the primary staff representative.
A notice was put out to the public soliciting interest in the task Force. Attached for Commission consideration is a listing of the people who expressed interest and/or have been recommended by their respective organization.
