SUMMARY OF MEETING: 1. Roll call. 2. The minutes of August 9, 2007 regarding the approval of the excerpts regarding the Raul Piñon issue were deferred until the next Board meeting. 3. The minutes of the September 13, 2007 Retirement Board meeting were approved. 4. The Administrative Manager's Report was reviewed and accepted. 5. The Board approved the request from Alex Christodoulou, pre-retirement survivor of Arlene Christodoulou of the Human Resources Department who passed away on March 1, 2007, for approval from the Board to allow him to receive a Single Sum Value Payment of $12,136.80 instead of monthly payment benefits in the amount of $88.46. This is request is in accordance with the Retirement Ordinance Section 50-232(a)(5) and indicated in the actuary's certification. 6. The Board approved the request from John Norman for approval of the return of his contributions on the purchase of active military service/other public employee service time in the amount of $21,165.22. Mr. Norman was approved for Service Connected Disability retirement on August 9, 2007 and will no longer need to continue the purchase of his service buy back. (Item deferred at the September 13, 2007 Retirement Board meeting.) 7. The attendance of Richard Sicking on behalf of James Thompson regarding the definition of "time of disability" in Retirement Ordinance Section 50-231 was deferred until further notice. 8. The Board approved the continued disability benefits for Jeffery Pickover. 9. Investment Issues were discussed. 10. There was no Old Business. 11. New Business was discussed. |
