A Resolution of the City of Coral Gables granting a one-day permit to the United Way of Miami-Dade to sell alcoholic beverages on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Village of Merrick Park on San Lorenzo Avenue during the Miami Wine and Food Festival Tasting Event, pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation Requirements and City Special Events Committee provisions.

 

Recommendation of the City Manager

It is recommended that the United Way of Miami-Dade be permitted to sell alcoholic beverages on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Vilalge of Merrick Park on San Lorenzo Avenue during the Miami Wine and Food Festival Tasting Event, pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation Requirements and City Special Event Committee provisions.

 

Brief History

For the past 14 years this event has been in existence and was held at the Biltmore Hotel. This year it will be held at the Village of Merrick Park. The event consists of 60 winderies and 30 restaurants, each has a booth to serve wine and food to guests. There will be live music by a 3 piece band. All proceeds go to the United Way of Miami-Dade and Camillus House.

 

This event has been reviewed by the City's Special Event Committee.
