Officer Thomson began his career with the City as a Police Recruit in September 1995 and later became a Police Officer in March 1996.
Officer Thomson received Honorable Mention for Officer of the month in July 1996, November 2002, June 2006 and May 2012. He was the recipient of Officer of the Month September 1999 and October 2004. He was awarded Officer of the Year in 1999 and received the Employee Excellence Award May 2000.
