Congratulations to Firefighter John Jensen, recipient of the City of Coral Gables "Firefighter of the Month Award", for the month of February 2011.

Firefighter Jensen was selected as February's Firefighter of the Month for his meritorious display of job performance, specifically his extraordinary actions at a severe car accident on the night of December 3, 2010. It was a great team effort, and Firefighter Jensen was instrumental to the successful extrication of one of the occupants in the car; initially stabilizing the car, cutting the seats from inside the car with an air chisel, and carefully putting the patient on a backboard before taking her out. His professionalism, efficiency and exceptional performance should be recognized and commended.
