A Resolution of the City Commission authorizing the donation of a retired Police Canine (K9) vehicle to the University of Miami Police Department.

The K9 vehicle is City Vehicle #759 which was set to be auctioned. Per Mr. Steve Riley, the Public Works Assistant Director for Fleet Management, the average cost of previously auctioned K9 vehicles was between $2000 and $3000. Chief David Rivero of the University of Miami Police Department has requested that an in-kind donation of the vehicle be made to the UMPD, to supplement their current K9 fleet with a pool vehicle.
The University of Miami Police Department understands that this vehicle is being donated as is and will be of no cost to the City of Coral Gables to include, but not limited to tag, title transfer, and equipment outfitting.
