Title

Resolution authorizing expenditures in the amount of $18,000.00 from previously encumbered Forfeited Asset Fund (FAF) monies to support the Youth Resource Officer activities and programs of the Coral Gables Police Athletic League.

Body

Pursuant to FSS 932.7055 (5)(c)(3) a local law enforcement agency must expend or donate no less than 15% of State Forfeited Assets for school resource officer, crime prevention, drug abuse education and prevention, or safe neighborhood programs. 

 

Forfeited Asset Funds were previously encumbered under Resolutions 2008-102 and 2009-227 to set aside funds for these programs as required by statute. 

 

The requested expenditure of $18,000.00 will support the activities and programs of the Coral Gables Police Athletic League and will further satisfy this statutory requirement.

 

The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on August 16, 2010, and approved this expenditure.
