Resolution of the City of Coral Gables authorizing expenditures in the amount of $12,420.00, from State Forfeited Assets to provide for the acquisition of the T3 Personal Electric Mobility Vehicle by the Community Affairs Unit of the Coral Gables Police Department.

Florida State Statute 932.7055 (5)(a) provides for municipal law enforcement agencies to expend the proceeds from assets forfeited as the result of criminal investigations for crime prevention, safe neighborhood and other law enforcement purposes, which include providing additional equipment or expertise.
Accordingly, the Community Affairs Unit of the Coral Gables Police Department has identified that the T3 Personal Electric Mobility Vehicle Department would enhance their current ability to conduct community outreach crime prevention and safe neighborhood programs.
The acquisition of this system would be an added enhancement for the Police Department, and not a normal operating expense.
The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on April 2, 2009, and approved this proposed expenditure.
