Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award a contract for Gymnastic Professional Service to Gym Kidz, Inc. pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code and Request for Proposal (RFP) 2010.02.19 for an initial three (3) year term with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. Brief History
The purpose of this contract is to hire a Gymnastics Professional Services firm to coordinate a year round schedule of gymnastics activities at the Youth Center in cooperation with and under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Department. The gymnastics schedule of activities shall include among other potential programs the following: gymnastics developmental programming conducted during the academic school year, for youth during the summer, holiday and spring break camp programs and opportunities for various competitive activities. The goal of this programming is to provide a well rounded gymnastics experience for all participants.
On February 19, 2010, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the Gymnastics Professional Request for Proposal (RFP) 2010.02.19. A total of fourteen (14) prospective proposers were contacted by email in regard to the RFP with five (5) vendors requesting the RFP package. Two (2) proposals were submitted by Gym Kidz, Inc. and Tumblebees Gymnastics, which were opened on March 25, 2010.
On April 26, 2010, a Selection Committee completed their evaluation based on the following: qualifications including degrees, licenses and certifications; program proposal and added value opportunities, staffing allocations and qualifications; business history, performance and references; and percentage of earnings to the City.
