On June 16, 2015 the City Commission approved a contract with the firm, The Fitness Center Inc., to operate the City’s Fitness Center at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center. The contract provided for an initial three (3) year term with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms with the last term expiring August 17, 2020.
Under Section 2-764 (B) of the Procurement Code this Fitness Professional Services Contract with The Fitness Center Inc., should be extended on a month to month on an as needed basis from the expiration of current contract extension (August 17, 2020) in order to provide time for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to be completed and for a new contract to be approved.
The Fitness Professional Request for Proposal RFP 2020-005 is set to be advertised on July 30, 2020 with the deadline for proposals scheduled for August 28, 2020. The evaluation of the proposals will be conducted in September.
The War Memorial Youth Center seeks the completion of all Fall scheduled programming set in place with contractor The Fitness Center, Inc., to coincide with the start of the Spring session of the calendar year 2021 with the newly awarded contract.
