Update of 25 mph speed limit signage implementation and consideration of a resolution accepting the recommendation of the Procurement Officer to award the Speed Limit Signs, Furnish and Install contract to A.U.M. Construction, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the amount of $149,999.60, pursuant to Invitation for Bids (IFB) 2017.11.MS and Section 2-763 of the Procurement Code entitled “Contract Award”.

The purpose of this Invitation for Bids is to establish a contract with a successful contractor to provide all materials, labor, applicable fees and permits to furnish and install 158 new 25 mph speed limit signs and remove 114 existing speed limits signs throughout the city.
On November 2, 2017, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised, issued and distributed the IFB for the Speed Limit Signs, Furnish and Install. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held on November 13, 2017, with one (1) prospective bidder in attendance of the twenty-five (25) prospective bidders who downloaded the IFB package from Public Purchase, the City’s web based e-Procurement service.
On December 5, 2017, six (6) bids were received in response to the IFB 2017.11.MS from: A.U.M. Construction, Inc.; Canyon Construction, Inc.; AGC Electric, Inc.; ABC Construction, Inc.; Metro Express, Inc.; and Pabon Engineering, Inc.
The lowest responsive responsible bidder for this project was determined to be A.U.M. Construction, Inc. with an estimated amount of $149,999.60. The Public Work Department and the Procurement Officer recommend awarding the IFB contract to A.U.M. Construction, Inc., for Speed Limit Signs, Furnish and Install.
