Mothers Against Drunk Driving exists on donations from the community.  Last year 1.4 million drivers were arrested for drunk driving, close to 17,000 people killed and more than 500,000 injured in a 100% preventable crime.  The mission of the organization is to stop drunk driving and to prevent underage drinking.  Since 1983, MADD in Miami, has worked to fulfill this mission by providing public awareness and youth education programs.  MADD's goal is to end drunk driving and the heartache it brings.  This year, the Coral Gables Police Department donated $5,000.00 to this organization
