Brief History
The contract with the operator of the Coral Gables Trolley, First Transit, Inc., will expire on October 31, 2009.  First Transit, Inc. has agreed to maintain the current billing rates for an extension period beginning November 1, 2009 and ending October 31, 2010.

Under Section 2-834(d) of the Procurement Code, the contract to provide staffing services for the Coral Gables Trolley should be extended for one year with an optional one-year extension to provide sufficient time to evaluate staffing levels and services provided before the contract is rebid.

First Transit, Inc. has further agreed to amend the existing Agreement to allow the City to reduce the minimum annual hours of Trolley service by up to ten (10%) without triggering the Contractor's right to renegotiate the contract fee or terminate the agreement.
