City Manager's Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Commission accept the bid for the construction of the Pump Station A Generator Upgrade, in the City of Coral Gables, Florida, DPW #08-05 of Megawattage LLC, the lowest and most responsive bid in an amount not to exceed $149,000.00.
Brief History
The Public Works Department reviewed bids and information received on August 21, 2008. Four bids were received, as follows:
1. R & D Electric, Inc. $138,000.00
2. Megawattage LLC $149,000.00
3. Seldin Construction Co., Inc. . $175,000.00
4. E.L.C.I. Construction Group, Inc $181,000.00
The Public Works Department and the City's consultant, Hazen & Sawyer, recommend the acceptance of Megawattage LLC's bid, in an amount not to exceed $149,000.00.
The bid submitted by R & D Electric, Inc. is non-responsive since the contractor did not meet the required licensing qualifications.
