Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Joint Participation Agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Coral Gables for financial assistance in the amount of $377,641.00 for the purchase of two (2) new 30-foot long, heavy-duty, low-floor, replacement shuttle buses for the Coral Gables Trolley Program.
Recommendation of the City Manager
The City Manager recommends adoption of this Resolution.
Brief History
In order for the City's Coral Gables Trolley to maintain current levels of service and provide for efficient and dependable transportation, it will be necessary to replace at least two (2) passenger shuttle buses estimated to cost $730,000.00.
The Florida Department of Transportation has prepared a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) for matching fund financial assistance in the amount of $377,641.00 to fund a portion of the cost for the purchase of the two (2) new heavy-duty shuttle buses.
The City's matching funds needed to complete the purchase of the shuttle buses shall be funded by Miami-Dade County Impact Fees.
