Bob also began as a Firefighter in January 1989. By September of 1989 Bob earned certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician and Fire Safety Inspector. He accepted the position of Fire Inspector and Fire Cause Investigator in December of 1990. He went back to Firefighter in December 1991. He became a certified paramedic in 1992, was promoted to Fire Lieutenant in October 2002, to Fire Captain-Staff in November 2004, and then, to the position of Division Chief effective April 2008, overseeing operations and support services.
In May of 2006 Bob was appointed as the department’s coordinator for the 15 year evaluation conducted by the Insurance Services Offices (ISO) and made a significant contribution to the department maintaining its coveted ISO Class One status.
Bob holds an Associates Degree in Fire Science Technology from Miami Dade College and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He is currently in pursuit on his Bachelors in Fire Service Administration.
Bob was selected as firefighter of the month in September 1997 and again in June of 2007.
