Title
A Resolution of the City of Coral Gables accepting a grant for financial assistance in the amount of $250,000.00 from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the construction of new City 2 Sanitary Sewer Pump Station and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement between the City and the Department of Environmental Protection for said financial assistance under DEP Agreement No. LP8909.
City Manager's Recommendation
That the City Commission approve the Resolution.
Brief History
There is a documented need to rehabilitate and reconstruct the existing City 2 Sanitary Sewer Pump Station located in the center median near the intersection of Alhambra Plaza and Galiano Street and the City has requested financial assistance from the State of Florida for construction of a new facility to replace existing City 2 Sanitary Sewer Pump Station.
The State through its Department of Environmental Protection has reviewed the City’s request and agrees to provide financial assistance in the amount of $250,000.00, representing a portion of the total cost with remaining cost of the new pump station, which is estimated at $1,200,000, which will likely be paid by revenues from a special assessment district, but in order to receive said financial assistance, the City must enter into an agreement with the Department of Environmental Protection.
This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement between the City and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for said financial assistance under DEP Agreement No. LP8909.
