Resolution accepting the recommendation of the Chief Procurement Officer to award the City Pump Station 3 Rehabilitation Project to Governor Construction Inc., pursuant to Section 2-828 of the Procurement Code and IFB 2010.09.02 in the amount of $764,000.00 (seven hundred sixty-four thousand dollars); further authorizing an appropriation of funds for this project.
Body
The City 3 Pump Station Rehabilitation Project, which is funded jointly by the City and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, consists of the demolition of the existing pump station to make room for the installation of a new triplex submersible pump with wet well and valve vaults, new gravity sewer and manhole, force main, electrical service, fuel storage tank, emergency generator and related appurtenant items, while maintaining uninterrupted sewer system service.
On September 2, 2010, the Procurement Division of Finance formally advertised the City 3 Pump Station Rehabilitation Project Invitation to Bid (IFB) 2010.09.02. On September 16, 2010, a non-mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit was held with fourteen (14) prospective bidders in attendance of the thirty-four (34) contractors and subcontractors who either downloaded the bid document from the Procurement webpage or picked up the bid documents from the Procurement Division of Finance.
On October 6, 2010, twelve (12) responsive bids were submitted by: ABC Construction, Inc., Metro Equipment Services, Inc., Gonzalez and Sons Equipment, Inc., Comtech Engineering, Inc., R&G Engineering, Inc., HA Contracting Corporation, Horizon Contractors, Inc., Intercounty Engineering, Inc., Wrangler Construction, Inc., RG Underground Engineering, Inc., Chaz Equipment Co., Inc., Governor Construction, Inc. with one (1) no bid response from Florida Design Contractors, Inc.
