Title

A Resolution of the City Commission accepting a recommendation to waive the competitive process of the Procurement Code and purchase additional 4 Stryker Power-Pro 2 powered ambulance cot/ loading systems for $113,270.30 as a “Sole Source Procurement”, pursuant to Section 2-689 of the City’s Procurement Code.

Body

The Fire Department currently utilizes outdated FERNO IN/X motorized patient stretchers. There have been repeated instances where these stretchers fail to operate as intended resulting in delayed care to our community. To maintain uninterrupted service to the community, the stretchers need to be in working order. Due to the lack of customer service, age, and performance of the FERNO IN/X stretchers we have decided to move to the Stryker Power-Pro 2 powered ambulance cot / loading system.

Under Section 2-689 of the Procurement Code, entitled “Sole Source Procurement,” an award may be made without competitive bids when there is only one source available to fulfill the needs of the City
