A Resolution of the City Commission accepting a grant from the State of Florida (State), Department of State, Division of Historical Resources for financial assistance in the amount of $750,000.00 for the Restoration/Reconstruction of the Historic Gondola Building and authorizing the City Manager to execute this agreement with the State for said financial assistance under Agreement no. 23.h.sc.900.154; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 annual budget to recognize the grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.
Body
The Gondola Building needs restoration/reconstruction, and this grant will provide financial assistance to restore this historic building. The project consists of restoring the building using historical documentation and salvageable elements from the original building.
The State agreed to provide financial assistance in the amount of $750,000 with the matching funds from the City’s contribution of $750,000.
In order to receive said financial assistance, the City must enter into an agreement with the State of Florida Division of Historical Resources.
