Brief History:
The Coral Gables Police Department purchased a CAMSS portable shelter system to be used in the field as an on-site Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This purchase was funded through the City's 2008 Urban Areal Security Initiative (UASI) grant. The Police Department has determined that a heavy duty equipment trailer is required to transport the CAMSS shelter as necessary for disaster relief operations. A $10,000 2013 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant has been applied for and awarded to the City to cover the cost of the equipment trailer.
An amendment to the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Annual Budget is required to recognize the $10,000 grant as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.
