Insurance Advisory Committee Meeting of August 21, 2008
1. The minutes of the April 16, 2008 meeting were approved as final minutes.
2. The Committee recommended issuing an RFP for Property Brokerage and Casualty/Excess Workers Compensation Brokerage.
3. The Committee requested a waiver for completing a new RFP for the health insurance consultant services performed by Robert J. Shafer and Associates.
4. Marj Adler explained that the City has been using the same company for the Cafeteria plan since 1990 with out a RFP in the intervening years. The Committee decided that an RFP should be issued for the Cafeteria Plan.
5. The Committee discussed the option of an outside firm for processing thousands of Certificates of Insurance that come to Risk Management, and have decided to explore the possibility of a piggyback off a City of Tampa contract.
6. The next meeting was tentatively scheduled for early fall 2008.
