Retirement Board meeting of March 12, 2009

1. Roll call.
2. The Board approved of the Retirement Board meeting minutes for February 12, 2009.
3. The Board Attorney Alan Greenfield updated the Board on current pending items.
4. The Administrative Manager's Report was reviewed and accepted.
5. The Board approved the following application for Retirement benefits:
Retirement Benefits:
Retirement application of Giovanna Timor Pascarella of the Police Department, 23 years, No Option, effective February 1, 2009.
6. The following invoice was approved for payment:
The Bogdahn Group invoice no. 3832 dated March 6, 2009 for Performance Evaluation and Consulting Services from January 1, 2009 to March 31, 2009 in the amount of $33,750.00. This invoice is in accordance with the contract between The Bogdahn Group and Coral Gables Retirement System signed on June 1, 2008.
7. The Board heard from attorney Mark L. Zientz on behalf of James Thompson and Stephanie Harmon and attorney David C. Miller on behalf of the City regarding the definition of "time of disability" in Retirement Ordinance Section 50-231. The Board voted to continue with the existing policy regarding the definition of time of disability for service connected disability retirees.
8. Investment Issues were discussed.
9. Old Business was discussed.
10. There was no New Business to discuss.
