TRAFFIC CIRCLES: Dan Keys reported that Royal Poinciana trees were being installed in the Blue Road traffic circles.
SEGOVIA STREET UPDATE: Dan Keys reported that the request for bids has been put out for the Segovia Street median. He noted that additional tree options had been placed on the bid.
GIRALDA & RESTAURANT ROW/MIRACLE MILE UPDATE: No new activity.
ARBOR DAY: Paul Zamek reported that he asked Arva Moore Parks to be the guest speaker for Arbor Day, but she could not. Instead, Joanna Lombard has agreed to speak this year and will focus on making the event more of a learning experience for the children who attend. Discussion was held regarding the Arbor Day program and sequence of events. It was decided to have a Junior Arbor Day Program beginning at 9:30 a.m. for the youngest children attending, which will serve to bring the events of Arbor Day to a level they will understand and enjoy. Members agreed it would be best to hold the next meeting at the Merrick House starting at 9 a.m.
Kathy Gaubatz thanked Dan Keys for having planted so many specimen trees throughout the City of Coral Gables over the past several years. Members agreed that the many specimen trees around our city are a valuable asset.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:56 a.m.
