Resolution of the City of Coral Gables authorizing expenditures in the amount of $65,900.00, from State Forfeited Assets to acquire the Police Officer Scheduling System Software (POSS),and its supporting hardware.

Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(a) provides for municipal law enforcement agencies to expend the proceeds from assets forfeited as the result of criminal investigations for other law enforcement purposes, which include providing additional equipment or expertise. Accordingly, the Coral Gables Police Department has identified that the Police Officer Scheduling System Software (POSS) would provide additional expertise by enhancing the Department’s ability to automate the staffing, scheduling and timekeeping functions carried out by the supervisory and command staff of the Police Department. The acquisition of this software system would be an added enhancement for the Police Department and not a normal operating expense. The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on April 2nd, 2009 and approved this request.
