Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Funding Agreement between the City and Miami-Dade County for the transfer of $75,000.00 from the General Obligation Bond (GOB) category "Enhancement-Expansion of Parks and Public Plazas, Signage/Historical Markers Project No. 88-72230" to the proposed General Obligation Bond (GOB) Project entitled "Rotary Centennial Park;" and further authorizing the City Manager to contract with Miami-Dade County and third-party contractors to complete said project during this Fiscal Year 2008-2009.

Brief History
On May 23, 2006, the City of Coral Gables and Miami-Dade County entered into an Agreement for funding assistance under the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program for the design and construction of Signage and Historical Markers project, GOB Project Number 88-72230 and to avoid a loss in GOB financial assistance for the Enhancement and Expansion of Parks and Public Plazas, the City Administration redefined a funding source for the Signage/Historical Markers Project and created a new GOB Project entitled “Rotary Centennial Park.”
The City of Coral Gables has a rich tradition of preserving historic monuments, markers and public places throughout its City and is committed to providing the necessary annual operating, maintenance and programming funds upon completion of the “Rotary Centennial Park Project.” In order to fund the Signage/Historical Marker project the City Administration is to transfer unused GOB “Enhancements-Expansion of Parks and Public Plazas” funds to the Signage/Historical Markers Project.
