Title

A Resolution authorizing a change order to the “Speed Limit Signs, Furnish and Install” contract with A.U.M. Construction, Inc., pursuant to Section 2-764 (b), Approval of Change Orders and Contract Modifications, in the amount of $45,000 for additional work to be completed beyond the scope of the original construction contract to include sign relocations, installation of 30MPH signage, and installation of additional 25MPH signage.

Body

On February 13, 2018, the City Commission approved the $149,999.60 construction contract award to A.U.M. Construction, Inc. to remove existing 30MPH signs on local residential streets and install new 25MPH signs. This project included the installation of one hundred fifty-eight (158) new speed limit signs.  Property owners at eight (8) locations have requested the City to relocate the signs to more desirable locations. This change order will cover the cost of the relocation of eight (8) 25MPH signs and the installation of thirty-five (35) new 30MPH signs.  The new 30MPH signs will match the new 25MPH signs and be placed at intersections of streets with the new posted 25MPH residential speed limit. Additionally, eight (8) 25MPH signs will be installed on residential streets that intersect with US1. A $4,656.00contingency has also been included in this request.
