Captain Muslera played a key leadership role in preparing the department for the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Compliance Monitoring Site Survey conducted on April 2, 2026. Due to her meticulous preparation, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards, the department successfully completed the survey with no deficiencies noted.
The Bureau of EMS specifically commended the department for its “Outstanding” vehicles and service records and recognized the agency as “a role model of excellence as an EMS provider in the state of Florida.” This achievement reflects Captain Muslera’s exceptional organizational abilities, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to ensuring compliance with state standards while supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care to the community.
Captain Muslera was hired with Coral Gables Fire Rescue in November 2017, promoted to Lieutenant in December 2023, and promoted to Captain on December 18, 2025. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, dedication to service, and a positive example for her peers. Her efforts during this successful survey process brought great credit to herself, the EMS Division and Coral Gables Fire Rescue as a whole.
For these reasons, Captain Cristina Muslera is highly deserving of recognition as Firefighter of the Month
