Resolution authorizing an expenditure of $45,000.00 from State Forfeited Assets Funds for the Coral Gables Citizen’s Crime Watch, Inc. Program.

Pursuant to the provisions of Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(a) the proceeds and interest from assets forfeited as a result of criminal investigations shall be used for school resource officer, crime prevention, safe neighborhood, or drug abuse education programs.
The primary crime prevention and safe neighborhood program of the Coral Gables Police Department is facilitated through the Police Department’s partnership with Coral Gables Citizen’s Crime Watch, Inc.
The Forfeited Asset Fund (F.A.F.) Committee met on August 10, 2009, and approved this expenditure.
The allocated funds would provide the funding needed for the operation of Coral Gables Citizen’s Crime Watch, Inc. for FY 2010.
