Title

Resolution authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to locate office space and negotiate a lease to replace current leased office space located at 95 Merrick Way, Suite 450, subject to lease payments not to exceed $33.00 per square foot, and further requesting authorization to execute a month-to-month lease arrangement at the current location, if unable to locate a space within the remaining lease period.

Body

The City is currently leasing a space at 95 Merrick Way, Suite 450, for economic development related operations. The current space no longer meets the need of the department and the lease ends on August 31, 2009. Therefore, there is an opportunity to locate space that accommodates the operating needs and possibly reduce the cost of the space.

The current lease for the space at 95 Merrick Way is proposed to increase from $30.00 per square foot to $33.00 per square foot for a three year lease, plus proportionate share of building operating expenses.
