Title

A Resolution of the City Commission accepting a grant from the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) for financial services to improve an area of the existing sanitary sewer collection system and authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with FDEM for said financial assistance under FDEM Project No. 4337-330-A, for Phase II; and authorizing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 annual budget to recognize the grant funds as revenue and to appropriate such funds to cover the cost of the grant expenditures.

 

Body

The sewer collection system is in Alcazar Avenue between Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Galiano Street between Alhambra Plaza and Majorca Avenue and needs improvement. These improvements will ensure proper sanitary sewer capacity for existing users and possible future developments. The grant consists of two phases: Phase I, $45,000 for design and Phase II, $1,154,421 for construction.

 

Upon completion of Phase I of the project, the Florida Division of Emergency Management agreed to provide financial assistance for Phase II in the amount of $1,154,421, representing 75% of the construction phase’s cost to implement the design phase.  The City’s contribution will be 25% for a total of $384,807of the project’s construction phase.

 

In order to receive said financial assistance, the City must enter into an agreement with the Florida

Division of Emergency Management.
