Title
Resolution authorizing expenditures in the amount of $3,830.00 from previously encumbered State Forfeited Asset Funds (F.A.F.) to acquire a ruggedized tablet style computer and its accompanying software for the Police Department Community Affairs Unit Crime Prevention and Safe Neighborhood Security Survey Programs.
Body
Pursuant to FSS 932.7055 (5)(c)(3) a local law enforcement agency must expend or donate no less than 15% of State Forfeited Assets for youth resource officer, crime prevention, drug abuse education and prevention or safe neighborhood programs.
State Forfeited Asset Funds were previously encumbered under Resolutions 2008-102 and 2009-227 to set aside funds to support these programs as required by statute.
The proposed expenditure of $3,830.00 will allow the Community Affairs Unit of the Police Department to acquire a ruggedized tablet style computer and its accompanying software to conduct commercial and residential security surveys in the field as part of the Police Department's crime prevention and safe neighborhood program services
The Forfeited Asset Fund Committee met on August 16, 2010, and approved this request.
